Meet Amy
Amy Sandoz is a seasoned community builder and education innovator who believes in the transformative power of collective action. As the co-founder of Verbena, she's creating a supportive space where ambitious professionals can navigate career transitions with confidence, drawing on her decade-plus experience in designing collaborative learning environments and building inclusive communities.
Prior to founding Verbena, Amy designed and scaled career readiness programs at Summit Public Schools that helped thousands of students make informed decisions about their career paths, with a particular focus on creating equitable opportunities for historically underrepresented groups. Her work there included developing innovative assessment tools, building mentoring structures, and creating communities of practice that supported both individual growth and collective learning. A "seed planter" by nature, Amy excels at nurturing spaces where new ideas and connections can flourish.
Amy holds a Master's in Public Administration and Social Entrepreneurship from Portland State University and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Oregon State University. Originally from Oregon, she brings a global perspective to her work, having recently completed a two-year sabbatical in Italy, where she holds dual citizenship. Amy and her puppy, Winnie, currently reside in Seattle, WA.
